COPPER FLOWER LAMP WITH FIBER OPTICS
Striving to create original pieces, I decided to put a bouquet in a lamp. The flowers and stems in this piece have been treated to resist tarnish, which I expect will create a wonderful image when the rest of the lamp turns to green patina.

DUO/DOUBLE BULB PORCH LANTERNS
Two of my favorite wall lamps. These medium size exterior copper lamps are fun to make, and priced to beat the mass produced styles.

It pretty much goes without saying, "Every piece that I make in the Secret Copper Shop is unique."

Actually whenever anyone crafts a piece by hand, it is - by its very nature - "different" than any other one that has been produced before. But, "uniqueness" at the Copper Shop actually goes well beyond that. Uniqueness involves more than the materials and the assembly of a particular object - it has more to do with the concepts and ideas, the challenges and intentions that are all involved in creating the piece. Whether it's fulfilling a particular need, or entertaining a certain type of whimsy - unique has as much to do with ideas, emotions, and expectations as it does with copper, function and use.

At the Secret Copper Shop my favorite challenge is taking someone's idea, concept and imagination - and making something very real and tangible with it. Sometimes the process is quick and easy. Other times it can actually take a few attempts and many visits "to the drawing board." But, as my frequent and return clients tell me.. there is an enjoyment in the process that is second only to finally having the completed piece in hand.

I always invite people to "Think Unique!" Whether it's for the design of a wall sconce for a particular hall, a personalized lamp for a desk in a den, a boating dock light, a unique weathervane for a grocery store, a bird feeder that's a lawn sculpture or a porch light that is, well... a bug light.

If you can imagine it, I can most probably make it a reality.

You may find unusual and functional in many big box stores and even in small galleries, but having a piece that is commissioned to your particular needs, or made from materials which you bring into the project, changes the entire game... it makes it's personal, gratifying and even fun. It gives it a story and a history. It truly makes that piece unique.
